Should I ‘stache it up this Movember?

It’s no secret that I grow some mean facial hair. But what you may be less aware of, dear readers, is the yearly custom of growing a moustache to promote men’s health awareness that rolls around each November. Entitled Movember, this month-long growing of upper lip hair is a full-fledged and actual event that you can learn more about by visiting the Movember Foundation’s Web site. This year, I’m thinking about participating.

Thoughts?

The only peanut I may actually love

I saw this on Drawn! Illustration & Cartoon Blog and was all ready to fire up a whole post about how I’d seen too many peanut-friendly things on the interwebs this week. Then I watched this adorable video and I believe I have discovered the only deadly peanut I may actually be able to endorse…

Great Comic Quotes: More from ‘Fear Agent’

Series protagonist Heath Huston is often quoting Samuel Clemens within the book’s pages and he’s usually the man who ends up with the best lines as well. Though this selection isn’t quite as raucous as the last Fear Agent line I posted here, it did have a more subtle quotability that I enjoyed.

Pumpkin Beer Season has begun!

Great Comic Quotes: Clothes make the manimal

Stan Sakai’s long-running Usagi Yojimbo is about a ronin (masterless samurai) who’s a rabbit in a feudal Japan populated entirely by anthropomorphic animals. In the second issue of Usagi published at Mirage, the long-eared samurai and his companion Gen—a ronin rhino—run into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The turtles were summoned to Usagi’s world by a Splinter-esque rat named Kakera in hopes they would help Usagi and Gen protect him and a village of peaceful farmers from a clan of ninjas. Obviously, an awesome team-up, but what I really loved was this page where the Turtles are trying to reason out how and why so many giant talking animals populate Usagi’s world.
