Mustache Blast from the Past: Matt Lubicky
Before the 15 man mustache-growing force of Mammoth-Stache there was a dynamic duo. Known as The Venerable Gentleman… FROM SPACE!, my compadre Matthew Lubicky and I teamed up for Movember 2009 and put our hairy faces to the task of raising funds and having fun in the process. By the time the dust settled, we’d raised over $1,100 and produced numerous hilarious photos, goofy doodles and—thanks to Matt and his buddy Alex Mallis—a few fantastic videos. Our biggest single day of donations?!
Wow, what a day!
In the past 24 hours, Team Mammoth-Stache received over $300 in donations from 13 different people. That’s a lot of mustache love and generosity going to benefit Movember! On behalf of the whole Mammoth-Stache crew, I’d like to pass along a huge “thank you” to everyone who took the time to donate today! Seeing my e-mail inbox fill with donation notifications felt like having pure happiness poured into my chest. The reaffirmation that you know tremendously great people is always fantastic, and I’m sure that will end up being my favorite part of Movember… kinda like it was last year. Again, thanks you so much, everybody!

A network of mustache hairs reaching across the globe…
Much like a Facebook for crumb catchers, Movember has added a networking feature to its Web site this year. Basically a way for like-minded mo-growers to band together, Movember’s networks can be used to group people by height, weight, geographical location or a penchant for ponies—just so long as you ask them to make a network page for your social group of choice.
